Exchange of Opinion with Rosaline Costa

 

 


An ‘Exchange of Opinion' session was held with Human Rights activist Rosaline Costa, who recently arrived in USA from Bangladesh on Friday, 29 th June at a restaurant in NY. BHBCUC , USA organized the session and a good number of people attended to listening her on the latest news and information in Bangladesh . Presided over by Dr. Thomas D. Roy, President of BHBCUC, USA , the meeting was conducted by its General Secretary Sushil Saha. Oikyo Parishad's DVD was shown at the end of the meeting, which lasted around two hours.

Chief Guest Rosaline Costa in her speech talked vividly against the enemy property act and described its notorious influence among the religious minorities. She told that not only Hindus, Christians are also widely affected by this black law. She demanded that the law needed to be repealed & its application should be stopped immediately.

Ms. Costa described the present situation of the country & as well as the condition of the religious minorities. She told army is ruling the country now from the back. According to her, Bangladesh is becoming another Pakistan either in the ruling sector (Military backed rule) as well as in the militant sector (Jamaat is filling the political vacuum). She told that the government may have a hidden agenda and that she believed the 11 advisors are working under gunpoint.

She blamed the central Oikyo Parishad leadership for not doing anything and criticized the BHBCUC, USA for its division.

A question & answer session was also there while she replied different questions from the audience. Ms. Rosaline Costa will address a HR meeting on 7 th July in Washington where BHBCUC , USA leaders Sitangshu Guha & Ratan Barua are also invited. She will meet few Congressmen and US offices during her stay in Washington .
