Ganga Rani, 14 alias Nipa was kidnapped on 28th May 2008 on way to her school (Zonail ML High School). According to the registered case at the Baraigram PS the kidnappers are 1) Mustafizur Rahman Sumon (20) son of Akram Hossain, 2) Sabbar Hossain Sabu (20) son of Hedautul Hoque, 3) Enamul Hoque (18) son of Akram Hossain and 4) Abdullah Al- Mamun (45) son of Lal Kazi residing in different parts of the Upazilla.
Police neglected to find the minor girl, nor they had arrested the perpetrators. Father of the abducted girl Nepal Chandra Sarkar of village Chargovindapur, Baraigram Upazila of Natore District urged GHRD, Bangladesh for helping rescue his minor daughter.
GHRD representative in Dhaka added on 23rd August that, none was arrested by this date and there are reports that the victim minor girl Ganga Rani was forcefully converted to Islam.
