Sitangshu Guha, a leader of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, USA met with Pranab Mukherjee, Foreign Minister of India on Oct 1st 2008 in his hotel suit in New York. The minister inquired about the situation in Bangladesh and expressed hope that Bangladesh will be in the path of democracy after the election. Sitangshu Guha informed him about the ongoing minority persecution in Bangladesh and gave him Newsletters of BHBCUC, USA and some documents on election where minorities can win. Mr. Mukherjee told that, to curb Islamic militancy in Bangladesh, democratic institution needs to be strong and active. He expects a positive change in Bangladesh after the election and minority persecution will be stopped.
