Upon tremendous national and international pressure, along with the other teachers and students of Dhaka University , Prof. Nim Chandra Bhowmick is now free. He was released along with his colleagues and students this afternoon from the central jail in Dhaka . They were received with flower bouquets by their family members, relatives, friends, colleagues and well-wishers in the jail gate.
In his first reaction upon being released, Prof. Bhowmick, who is the General Secretary of the central committee of Bangladesh Hindu Buoddha Christian Oikya Parishad (Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council), expressed his gratitude to all at home and around the globe, who relentlessly moved demanding his release along with his colleagues and students, who were taken into custody in the false cases upon the August '07 incidents in the Dhaka University campus. He also thanked to the government for their good understanding to release all of them.
Prof. Bhowmick and others now could come back to their beloved campus to carry out their professional jobs and family & social responsibilities in which, in particular, the Oikyo Parishad job is one of the top most priority for Prof. Bhowmick, as he opined.
Let us congratulate our dear leader Nim Da (to the juniors he is Nim Sir) and just express our rejoice telling him we were looking for your release like thirsty pied crested cuckoo.
Long live Prof. Nim Chandra Bhowmick with sound physique and prosperous life.
